Administrative Associate - Student Hourly
Audio-Reader Network, Lawrence, Kansas

Audio-Reader Network is hiring a pool of student hourly workers to support adminstrative duties for our reading and information for service for blind, visually impaired, and print disabled individuals in Kansas and western Missouri. 

Student workers gain valuable experience in the administration of a non-profit organization, interpersonal skills working with our wonderful volunteers, general office admin experience, as well as the opportunity to build a media portfolio (especially great for journalism, multimedia or film students).

Job Duties:

  • Answer main telephone, respond to inquiries and directing calls as needed.
  • Greet volunteers and visitors.
  • Produce program content as directed by Program Manager.
  • Troubleshoot studio and recording errors.
  • Edit and import programs for broadcast.
  • Read on-air as needed.
  • Assistant in studio scheduling.
  • Assisting with mailings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  1. 1 year experience with Microsoft Office software products.
  2. Work experience that required attention to detail as evidenced in application materials.
  3. Must be enrolled for current semester at KU, in at least 6 hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in an administrative/office setting
  • Knowledge of sound editing software
  • Comfortable working with a wide variety of people

Additional Candidate Instruction

Candidates need consistent availability to work at least one day/week and weekend mornings.
