'Roaring for Change'

The Kansas Lions Foundation, in partnership with the Audio-Reader Network at the University of Kansas, has announced Roaring for Change, a new fundraiser that Lions clubs across the state can benefit from. At the forefront of the campaign are change banks shaped like lions that actually roar when they receive donations.

Roaring for Change launched May 30 at the Kansas State Lions Convention in Wichita. Lions throughout the state can take banks back to their communities to raise money. Funds raised from the banks go to the local Lions Clubs (25 percent), the Kansas Lions Foundation (25 percent) and the Audio-Reader Network (50 percent). The campaign ends Sept. 30. Donations will then be turned into the Kansas Lions Foundation to be tallied. The top three fundraising clubs will be recognized at the Kansas Lions Mid-Winter Rally in January 2009. Clubs are welcome to keep their lion banks in their communities through the holidays.
