Communications & Listener Services Coordinator

Audio-Reader Network, University of Kansas, Lawrence KS

The Audio-Reader Network is an audio information service for people who are blind, visually impaired, and print disabled in Kansas and western Missouri. We provide accessible audio versions of newspapers, magazines, and books on the air, on the internet, over the telephone and through smart speakers, 24 hours a day. Services are free of charge to anyone who is unable to read standard printed material.

The Communications Coordinator is one member of a small dynamic team operating in a flexible work environment. It manages internal and external communications with a goal to inspire individuals to share and support the A-R mission and to reach those who need us most. The Coordinator will promote a positive public image and create engaging content for various platforms to grow the A-R audience. They will drive awareness and communicate the A-R message to potential listeners, referral sources, volunteers, donors, and other stakeholders. This position is responsible for developing and implementing a communications strategy consistent with A-R’s mission, vision, and values; which includes coordinating events that increase engagement and commitment to A-R with current and prospective listeners, volunteers, donors, and community partners.
