Spring & Summer Live Audio Description

If it has been a while since you spent a night out enjoying a live theater performance, then now is the time to make plans. Audio-Reader is excited to announce several upcoming theater performances where Live Audio Description will be available.

Our trained Audio Describers make visual imagery come to life, highlighting action, costumes, settings, and other visually important images without speaking over the actors. Patrons check out a pair of headphones on the way into the theater, and the describer broadcasts directly into the headphones.

In April, learn about astrophysicist Henrietta Leavitt who laid the foundation for how we use light to calculate the distances between stars during Theatre Lawrence's production of Silent Sky. Description will be available during the Saturday, April 22 showing. Learn more on Theatre Lawrence's Webpage.

The next day, on Sunday, April 23, the sun will come out in Kansas City at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts as they present the beloved classic Annie! Description will be available during the 1:00 matinee showing that Sunday. Learn more on the Kauffman Center's Webpage.
