Nick Carswell has been buzzing around the state of Kansas searching for musical talent to feature on his new KPR show '105 Live', and Lawrence Magazine caught his attention long enough to interview him for their Spring 2025 issue.

Why is the show called '105 Live'? The article explains, "The title refers to the 105 counties in Kansas, and the goal is to play music from each of them." When it comes to the genres of music featured on the program, Carswell doesn't want the show to be "pigeonholed" into one category, opting to showcase the variety of talent available across the state.

Another feature of '105 Live' is highlighted in the name - Live! Carswell says, "That allows us to create that excitement around a live performance with a live audience. There's no chance to do it again. There's no chance to repeat or fix mistakes. It's raw. It's also a kind of challenge to the artist to step up their game as well." Performances for the show have been recorded in the KPR Live Performance Studio and at The Bottleneck with new venues in the works for future show.

In addition to hosting this amazing new show on KPR and working fulltime as Audio-Reader's Program Manager, Nick Carswell finds the time to serve as the Director of the Lawrence Music Alliance as well as sit on the boards of several non-profit agencies such as the International Association for Audio Information Services (IAAIS). As if that wasn't enough, he is the lead singer for the band Carswell & Hope.

Join Audio-Reader as we stand in awe of Nick Carswell's dedication to supporting local music and promoting Kansas talent!
